Homemade Acne Remedies

If you are looking for some homemade acne remedies, I have a few for you. I suggest you do a little research before just jumping into using these homemade acne remedies.

Here is the short list that seems to come up most often when refering to homemade acne remedies:

* Aloe - it has similar properties to an astringent and has antibacterial qualities when correctly applied topically.

* Lavender - apply as a compress and is used to relieve inflammation.

* Walnut Leaf - this herb is useful as an astringent.

* Rosewater - apply topically for pain and/or inflammation.

* Toothpaste - one of the favorite home remedies for acne is putting a small amount of toothpaste on the pimple and leave it on over night.

* Witch Hazel- used for its antibacterial and astringent properties.

* Echinacea- when taken internally, it promotes healing and can help reduce your inflammation.

* Goldenseal - is a super antimicrobial which is used to help stop oozing.

* Tea Tree Oil - this is a traditional powerhouse antiseptic, but it must diluted before applying directly on your skin.

* Calendula - this herb that can be used as a wash, steam or cream. It enhances healing enviornment for skin tissue.

* Dandelion and Burdock Root can be used to remove bacteria and help keep the skin clear.

* Milk Thistle capsules - taken internally is used to cleanse the liver and help rid it of excess hormones.

* Oatmeal - cooked can be used as a mask, leave on for about 15 minutes.

* Apple and honey - Put an apple in the blender to make a paste and mix with 3 or 4 tablespoons of honey. Apply to face and leave on for about 15 minutes or until it drys.

* Aspirin and Water Mix - use generic aspirin to make a facial paste and apply to whiteheads and blackheads on your face. Take five to ten uncoated aspirin tablets and crush them into a powder in a small bowl, then put in a few drops of water and mix together until you haave made a thick paste. Apply the paste to acne on your face and allow the paste time to dry, then remove tghe paste with warm water and pat dry with towel.

* Honey and cinnamon powder - apply it on the pimples and leave it on to dry. Wash with lukewarm water the next morning.

The list, of course, goes on and on with just about anything you can think of from Cucumber and Garlic, to cinnamon powder and turmeric, and many other things in between. So I think you get the idea. Each person has their own special homemade acne remedy that may or may not work for you.

The most important information that has been left out here is that most acne is caused as much by what is inside as what is outside. If you really want to cure your acne, of course you can use some of these homemade acne remedies, but also start changing what you are putting inside if you really want a permanent cure.
